Andrew Clesen

Protecting Property Rights and Veterans Benefits
 

Andrew is a U.S. military veteran who served in U.S. Special Operations and deployed to combat zones throughout the Middle East. Following his military service, he earned a B.S. from Illinois State University, an M.A. in Communication from San Diego State University, and his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University. He is licensed to practice law in both Illinois and California and represents clients in both jurisdictions. Most of Andrew’s clients are located in Cook County, Illinois and San Diego County, California.

Andrew is an experienced litigator whose practice focuses on complex property rights, veterans benefits, and constitutional litigation. He regularly appears in courts throughout Illinois in matters involving property tax sales, tax deed litigation, inverse condemnation, surplus equity claims, and constitutional property rights disputes against governmental entities.
 

Andrew represents veterans in VA disability appeals and veterans disability benefits matters. As a military veteran himself, he is passionate about helping fellow veterans obtain the benefits and compensation they earned through their service to the country. Drawing on both his military and legal experience, Andrew is known for taking a practical and aggressive approach to complex litigation matters.
 

In addition to his veterans benefits practice, Andrew represents clients in matters involving real estate tax sales and tax deeds, real estate tax redemption, and helping homeowners recover equity following tax deed proceedings. He also handles Fifth Amendment government takings claims, including inverse condemnation actions and claims involving unconstitutional government takings and the unlawful retention of surplus equity following tax deed proceedings.
 

Andrew regularly represents individual homeowners, military veterans, private investors, and large corporate tax purchasers in complex real estate tax and property rights litigation throughout Illinois.
